In the March 3, 2010 Speech from the Throne, the Conservative government announced its intention to prod Parliament to assess the lyrics of "O Canada" specifically to see if the lyrics "all our sons command" should be altered to be more gender neutral. Well, Kim Campbell, Minister of Justice at the time, spoke about this issue and appears to have been about 20 years ahead of her time. Campbell will discuss her ongoing professional journey since stepping down from her position as the 19th prime minister of Canada in 1993. A global visionary, Campbell has worked to promote democracy and the advancement of women throughout the world and is a founding member of the Club of Madrid, an independent organization of former heads of state and others that aims to strengthen global democracy.
