This, the inaugural meeting of a 3-year initiative, was organised with the UN Economic Commission for Africa and the African Union Commission and the Club de Madrid partners (Strategic Initiative for Women in the Horn of Africa, Isis-WICCE and the Institute for Security Studies). This initiative was launched thanks to the support of the Governments of Norway and Germany and takes a strategic approach to harnessing the differences of female leadership at national, personal, professional and cultural levels –tapping a rich melting pot of ideas and activity across multiple skill sets and areas of expertise for transforming conflict.
